Nurse Seekers are recruiting on behalf of an established care provider for an experienced Area / Shift Coordinator to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in care coordination, recruitment, rostering or temporary staffing who enjoys a fast-paced role and is confident managing people, clients and changing priorities.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for coordinating staffing requirements across a number of care services, making sure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Managing incoming shift and staffing requests.
  • Matching suitable, experienced and compliant staff to shifts.
  • Maintaining accurate rotas and booking records.
  • Managing cancellations, sickness and last-minute staffing requirements.
  • Building strong relationships with care providers and care staff.
  • Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new Care Assistants and Support Workers.
  • Screening candidates and assisting with references, DBS, Right to Work and training checks.
  • Maintaining a reliable pool of available and compliant workers.
  • Monitoring attendance and dealing with any staffing issues promptly.
  • Escalating safeguarding, compliance or operational concerns when required.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in care coordination, recruitment, rostering, agency staffing or a similar role.
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • A confident communicator with excellent people skills.
  • Calm and solution-focused when dealing with last-minute changes.
  • Confident making decisions and taking ownership.
  • Familiar with safeguarding, confidentiality and safe staffing practices.
  • Comfortable using IT systems, email and Microsoft Office.
  • Flexible and willing to participate in an agreed out-of-hours/on-call rota.

A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, recruitment or a related subject, and knowledge of CQC and safer recruitment practices would be advantageous but are not essential.

Working Pattern

Fully remote, with occasional travel potentially required for meetings, recruitment, inductions or service visits.

As the organisation provides staffing support 24/7, 365 days a year, the role includes participation in an agreed rota covering some evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
